A Milestone for the Development of ADR in Ukraine

A Milestone for the Development of ADR in Ukraine

On 20 August 2025, the Government of Ukraine adopted a Resolution establishing the Interagency Coordination Council on the Development of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

The newly established Council will unite representatives of central government bodies, different branches of government, and professional associations of mediators, arbitrators, and other ADR practitioners.

This step is not only a recognition of the importance of ADR as a vital element of access to justice, but also a practical move towards a more coordinated approach and the strengthening of ADR’s role in Ukraine.

We are proud to be associated with the idea of creating such a body, which will serve as a platform for the systemic and comprehensive development of ADR in Ukraine. It was essential to introduce a mechanism that promotes ADR in its diversity, since all these methods provide society with the possibility to choose the most appropriate way of resolving disputes.

This decision also contributes to building good practices that may serve as a valuable reference for other countries, including those in the EU.
