Arbitration, Mediation, or a Hybrid Model: Modern Approaches to Resolving International Maritime Disputes

On June 8, 2026, World Oceans Day, the X International Forum "Mediation and Law" will host a panel discussion dedicated to modern mechanisms for resolving international maritime disputes.

Participants will discuss the role of arbitration, mediation, and hybrid dispute resolution models in addressing complex conflicts in the maritime sector. Special attention will be given to the advantages of multi-tier dispute resolution clauses in international contracts and current trends in the development of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in international practice.

The panel discussion will serve as a platform for exchanging experience among leading experts in maritime law, international arbitration, and mediation.

Jonathan Lux (United Kingdom) - international commercial mediator, arbitrator, and barrister accredited by the International Mediation Institute (IMI) and the Civil Mediation Council (CMC).

Andrea Lista (Italy) - Professor of Maritime and Commercial Law, Director of the Institute of Maritime Law, legal advisor, and Associate Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA).

Mykola Melnykov (Ukraine) - Partner at the international law firm Interlegal, Deputy Chairman and Arbitrator of the Maritime Arbitration Commission at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, specialist in maritime law and arbitration.

Karina Horova (Ukraine) - Arbitrator at the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Partner at Interlegal.
