Diversity in Mediation: A Webinar for Mediators Working with Cross-Border Family Disputes

The Ukrainian Academy of Mediation, in cooperation with MiKK, continues to create opportunities for the professional development of Ukrainian mediators. On April 30, 2026, a webinar dedicated to diversity, bias, and inclusion in cross-border family mediation practice will take place.

The event is highly practical and will include role-play exercises, reflective activities, and tools for recognizing and addressing bias. Participants will explore how differences in life experience, perception, and assumptions can influence mediation processes and interactions between parties.

The workshop combines approaches from family mediation, psychology, and inclusive practice. Particular attention will be paid to cultural differences, disability, neurodiversity, and complex life circumstances that may affect the mediation process.

After the Webinar, Participants Will Be Able To:

• identify bias and power dynamics in mediation;
• develop greater awareness of their own assumptions and the mediator’s role in the process;
• work more confidently with diversity, including cultural, social, and neurodiversity;
• apply inclusive and culturally sensitive approaches;
• enhance the effectiveness of mediation interventions in complex cases.
