Empowerment Through Dialogue: Ukrainian Mediation Academy Conducts Workshops for Girls in Uganda
Over the past month, Anna Baryshnikova, trainer at the Ukrainian Mediation Academy, led a series of educational, developmental, and supportive online workshops focused on nonviolent communication, self-confidence, and self-identification for girls from Uganda.
This initiative was made possible through cooperation with Girl Impact Dynamic Africa (GID Africa) — a non-governmental organization based in Kampala, Uganda, dedicated to uplifting underprivileged girls and women. The GID Africa team works with passion and purpose, aiming to create lasting positive change in their local communities.
The online sessions were rich with interactive lectures, group discussions, practical exercises, and moments of connection, inspiration, exploration, and joy. Each workshop became a space where girls could explore their inner strength, build confidence, and develop tools for constructive communication.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Sharif Kawalya, Director of GID Africa, and our amazing interpreter Ms. Grace Amongin for their invaluable support in bringing this project to life.
We believe these workshops — grounded in an empowerment-based approach — will leave a powerful, positive, and lasting impact on the lives of participating girls.
Together, we can co-create meaningful experiences that truly uplift those who need it most.
