“EQ: Your Inner Compass” Course Completed: From Understanding Emotions to Practical Skills
We are used to looking for guidance outside ourselves. Yet one of the most important compasses in our everyday interactions with others works from within — our ability to understand our own emotions, recognise our reactions, and better understand those around us.
This was the focus of the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation’s “EQ: Your Inner Compass” course, which another group of participants has successfully completed.
Throughout the course, participants explored emotions as an important source of information about themselves, their needs, boundaries, and interactions with others. They learned tools for recognising their emotional states, identifying automatic reactions, managing emotional tension, and developing empathy.
Practice was an essential part of the learning process. Emotional intelligence is difficult to develop through knowledge alone. It is equally important to observe ourselves, reflect on our experiences, try new ways of responding, and gradually build skills that help us interact with others more consciously.
The course has now concluded for this group, but “EQ: Your Inner Compass” continues — the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation has opened enrolment for the next course.
The programme will be useful for those who want to better understand their emotional reactions, develop empathy, and strengthen their communication skills in both professional and everyday life.
Perhaps now is the right time to listen more closely to your inner compass.
