IMI Event: Strengthening Mediation – How International Ethical Standards Support the Development of Mediation at the National Level

Ethical standards are one of the fundamental pillars of the mediation profession and an important factor in building public trust in mediation. Across the world, mediation professionals continue to address complex ethical questions arising in practice, while international organizations play a key role in shaping common approaches and professional standards.

During this partner event of the International Mediation Institute (IMI), participants will discuss current international approaches to mediator ethics, emerging challenges within the profession, and IMI initiatives aimed at advancing professional standards. Particular attention will be given to how international ethical principles can strengthen confidence in mediation and support the development of national mediation systems.

The event will provide a platform for professional dialogue on ethical dilemmas, mediator responsibility, the role of professional associations, and the importance of ethical standards for the sustainable development of the mediation profession.

Iryna Dotsenko - mediator, lawyer, trainer at the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation, and Board Member of the National Association of Mediators of Ukraine.
