International Day of Families & Vyshyvanka Day
It is symbolic that this year we celebrate these two beautiful holidays on the same day.
It made us reflect: what might this signify?
Family relationships are much like a vyshyvanka — a traditional embroidered shirt. Their value lies in the diversity of patterns passed down through generations, in the wisdom of parental words, and in the bold, new colors of the future.
And just like in embroidery, there can be knots and irregularities in family relationships.
Mediation is embedded in the genes of Ukrainian identity, as this tool for achieving mutual understanding was laid down by our ancestors. It remains a foundation for preserving harmony, warmth, and understanding in the family.
Mediation is about the ability to seek solutions together. It is like a shared family legacy — where every thread matters, and none should be broken.
Cherish your loved ones, speak with each other, and turn to mediation when needed — and harmony will always live in your family.
We also take this opportunity to remind you about the brochure developed by UAM: “Mediation in Marital Relationships.”
