Mediation and Mental Health in Situations of Displacement: Practical Tools for Dialogue and Social Cohesion

Mediation and Mental Health in Situations of Displacement: Practical Tools for Dialogue and Social Cohesion

Mass displacement caused by war, humanitarian crises, and other emergencies creates new challenges for communication, trust, and social cohesion. In such circumstances, tools for dialogue, mediation, and psychosocial support become especially important in helping people find common ground, reduce tension, and rebuild mutual understanding.

During this panel discussion, participants will explore the role of mediation and mental health in adaptation and integration processes and share practical approaches to working with communities, people with displacement experience, and host communities. Special attention will be given to tools that help strengthen social cohesion, reduce conflict, and promote constructive interaction in situations of uncertainty and change.
