One Year of the “Lessons of Peace and Justice” Initiative: More Than 10,000 Children Engaged in Dialogue

Last year, on 1 April, the “Lessons of Peace and Justice” initiative was launched. Since then, it has grown into a practical platform for meaningful conversations with children about complex yet important topics, including conflict, justice, dialogue, and communication.

Dialogue That Shapes the Future

The initiative brings together facilitators from different professional backgrounds, including lawyers, judges, mediators, and attorneys, as well as schools that recognise the value of introducing these topics to students.

Over the past year, more than 10,000 children have learned about mediation, while teachers and parents have also become part of the broader conversation.

Even conversations that begin locally can gradually contribute to a wider understanding that conflict is not only about confrontation — it can also create an opportunity for dialogue, mutual understanding, and finding solutions together.

A Community That Inspires

Over the course of the year, a strong community of facilitators has developed around the initiative. Its members exchange experiences and insights after conducting lessons, support one another, and generate new ideas for the further development of the programme.

This community brings professionals together around a shared goal: fostering a culture of dialogue among children and young people.
