Reflective Debriefing with Michael Lang: A Webinar for Mediators
The Ukrainian Academy of Mediation continues to strengthen its cooperation with MiKK e.V. – International Mediation Centre and create new opportunities for the professional development of Ukrainian mediators.
On May 5, 2026, a webinar dedicated to the Reflective Debrief® model will take place. This approach helps mediators reflect on their professional experience and learn from the cases they have handled.
Cross-border family mediation often involves intense emotions and high levels of tension. In such circumstances, it is important not only to support the parties involved but also to have an opportunity to analyze one’s own professional decisions and reactions. The Reflective Debrief® model was developed specifically for this purpose.
Unlike many other case review methods, this approach focuses not only on the behavior of mediation participants but also on the mediator’s own experience. During the webinar, participants will learn about the core principles of reflective practice and observe a demonstration of how the model can be applied to real-life cases.
During the Webinar, Participants Will Learn:
- what the Reflective Debrief® model is and how it works;
- how to analyze and reflect on their experience after conducting mediation;
- how this approach differs from other case review methods;
- how reflective practice contributes to a mediator’s professional development;
- how to use this tool in cross-border family mediation cases.
