Shuttle Mediation in High-Conflict Cross-Border Family Cases: A Webinar for Mediators
The cooperation between the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation and MiKK continues to create new opportunities for the professional development of Ukrainian mediators. The next step in this collaboration is a webinar dedicated to the use of shuttle mediation in high-conflict cross-border family disputes.
In international family conflicts, particularly in cases involving international child abduction, direct communication between parents is often complicated by high levels of tension, mutual distrust, fear, or parallel court proceedings. In such situations, shuttle mediation can become an effective tool for maintaining communication and supporting the search for solutions without direct confrontation between the parties.
During the webinar, participants will gain insight into the practical application of this approach and receive tools for working with complex family disputes.
During the Webinar, Participants Will Learn:
- when shuttle mediation is an appropriate approach;
- how to use shuttle mediation to maintain constructive dialogue between parties;
- practical techniques for working with strong emotions in conflict situations;
- how to communicate messages and positions neutrally between parties;
- how to keep the focus on the best interests of the child.
