Training for the Educational Security Service: Teaching Children Communication Through Play

On April 14, a training program for facilitators of the educational game “Master of Communication” began for specialists of the Educational Security Service.

The game is a practical tool designed to help children talk about emotions, disagreements, needs, and mutual respect.

Educational Security Service specialists work directly in schools, cooperate with teachers and parents, and contribute to the prevention of juvenile misconduct and the creation of a safe educational environment.

In this work, it is especially important to have tools that help:

• support children;
• prevent conflicts;
• foster a safe and respectful school environment.

For this reason, training facilitators to lead the “Master of Communication” game is an important step in strengthening these capacities.

How Does the “Master of Communication” Game Work?

The game creates a space where children can develop essential life skills, including:

• listening to and hearing one another;
• focusing on finding solutions;
• understanding their own emotions and needs.

It also opens opportunities for meaningful conversations about mutual respect and helps children understand that conflicts are often rooted in unspoken feelings and unmet needs.

The game can be facilitated in educational institutions by trained facilitators who have completed the program.

The use of such tools expands approaches to working with children, makes conflict prevention more effective, and supports the development of a culture of dialogue within the school community.

The initiative is implemented by the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation within the framework of the EU-funded Project “CONSENT”.
