Ukrainian Academy of Mediation Film Club: Discussing “Carnage”

The Ukrainian Academy of Mediation invites you to join its Film Club — a space for professional development, discussion, and exploring mediation-related topics through cinema.

About the Event

The Film Club offers an opportunity to explore the nature and dynamics of conflict, develop mediation skills, and exchange perspectives with like-minded professionals. Participants examine how fictional stories reflect real-life communication processes, conflict dynamics, and behavioural patterns.

The next meeting will take place on 27 February 2026 at 19:30 online via Zoom.

Film for Discussion

This time, participants will discuss “Carnage” (2011).

Participants are invited to watch the film independently at a convenient time before the meeting and then join the group discussion.

The discussion will focus on:

  • impressions and emotions evoked by the film;
  • the film’s potential for developing mediation skills;
  • the behaviour of the parties to the conflict and their communication strategies.

The meeting will be facilitated by Anna Baryshnikova — mediator, psychologist, co-author and trainer of educational programmes, and Board Member of the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation.

The event is open to everyone.
