What Did We Discuss at the July UAM CIRCLE?

Summer is passing quickly, but even in the midst of this dynamic season, participants of the UAM CIRCLE found time for a meaningful pause — for self-reflection, sharing experiences, and supporting one another.

The July meeting took place on July 10 and focused on a topic deeply familiar to every mediator — fear.

We explored the fears that arise at the beginning of a professional journey, and the ones that return after difficult cases. Where does fear come from? When does it show up most intensely? How do we move beyond imposter syndrome and find inner strength?

These questions became the foundation of an open and profound discussion. Participants shared personal stories of doubt and vulnerability, along with the strategies that help them stay resilient. We looked at how fear can serve as a signal worth listening to — one that confirms our growth, knowledge, and professionalism.

A key part of the conversation was discovering what serves as an anchor: ourselves, our colleagues, our experience.

We thank Iryna Dotsenko, who facilitated the meeting with great empathy, depth, and care. Gatherings like this remind us once again: we are not alone. We are part of a professional community that understands and supports.

In addition, the group reflected on the IX International Forum "Mediation and Law", which left participants inspired, full of new ideas, and even more deeply connected to the values of mediation.

Participation in the UAM CIRCLE is open only to graduates of UAM training programs and associated partners.
