Mediation services - effective dispute resolution in the educational environment

At the end of December 2023, within the framework of the project ‘FORMING A CULTURE OF CONSENSUAL CONFLICT RESOLUTION AS A WAY TO ACHIEVE JUSTICE IN UKRAINIAN SOCIETY’ implemented by the Ukrainian Mediation Academy with the support of the American people provided through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the Justice for All Programme, mediation services in higher education institutions were opened and are now functioning effectively. 

The purpose of establishing and operating mediation services is to:

- Strengthening the atmosphere of understanding in the implementation of the educational process and accommodation in dormitories for higher education students;

- Organisation of mediation services (in person or online) for higher education students, academic and administrative staff of higher education institutions;

- Carrying out activities to strengthen the culture of peaceful dispute resolution.

To better understand the essence of the creation and operation of mediation services, the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation created an animated video about mediation services in higher education institutions and developed an explanatory infographic.
