On prejudice reduction strategies and peer-to-peer mediation mechanisms by Helen Winter
On January 18, 2024, the series of Hot Talks on Mediation webinars organized by the Edwards Mediation Academy in partnership with the Ukrainian Mediation Center and within the framework of the European Union CONSENT Project continued.
This time, Bruce Edwards talked to Helen Winter, who spoke about her research on prejudice reduction strategies and peer-to-peer mediation mechanisms to improve the self-esteem of refugees and migrants. Helen is known for her research on these topics.
She also founded an innovative and successful peer mediation program in Germany, R3SOLUTE, which empowers refugees and local people to resolve and prevent community conflicts through peer-to-peer dialogue and mediation. Helen has worked with the United Nations Office of the Ombudsman and Mediation Services (UNOMS) and is an ambassador for the International Justice Mission in Germany.
