Soft Skills for Human Rights Protection
In early May, regional representatives of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights completed the training “Effective Communication and Mediation”, organized within the framework of the “CONSENT” project.
Throughout April, participants:
- explored the foundations of effective communication;
- practiced emotional intelligence and working with emotions;
- studied conflict mechanisms and searched for resolution strategies;
- learned how mediation can support their daily interactions with people.
These insights go beyond techniques. They are about empathy, inner maturity, the ability to listen, and building trust. About creating a space where everyone can be heard — especially those in vulnerable or challenging life circumstances.
We sincerely thank the Office of the Ukrainian Ombudsman for its consistent and dedicated work in the field of human rights protection. We deeply appreciate your recognition of mediation’s potential as a tool for engagement, support, and peaceful conflict resolution.
The training was held in cooperation with the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights within the project “CONSENT: Strengthening the Role of Alternative Dispute Resolution in Ukraine with a Focus on Mediation”, implemented by the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation with the financial support of the European Union.
