Conference “The Role of Dialogue and Mediation in Times of War and Reconstruction of Ukraine”
At the conference “The Role of Dialogue and Mediation in Times of War and Reconstruction of Ukraine. Drawing on the experience of 30 years of mediation, 10 years of dialogue in Ukraine” within the framework of the panel discussion ”Dialogue and mediation in the service of society. Success Stories” was delivered by Olga Kulinich, Head of the Department ‘Academy of Intellectual Property’ of the Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovations, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Member of the Board of the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation.
In her speech, Ms. Kulinich presented the key initiatives of the Ukrainian Mediation Academy aimed at children and youth as a source of support and formation of a culture of understanding.

Development of Conflict Management Skills and Legal Awareness:
- Online course for youth: "Life Skills".
- Game: "Master of Communication".
- Online quest: "The Magical World of Mediation".
- Legal awareness activities for children.
Raising Awareness About Mediation:
- Video explainers and infographics.
- Textbook: "Mediation in the Professional Activity of a Lawyer".
Educational Materials for Children:
- A series of stories: "The Amazing Adventures of Rot and Dem", helping children understand the importance of dialogue, cooperation, and intellectual property rights.
Introduction to the World of Intellectual Property:
Ms. Olga also shared her experience of working with children on behalf of the Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovation. Children were introduced to basic knowledge about intellectual property rights, idea protection, creators' rights, personal image rights, and creating original works.
Dialogue and Mediation in Challenging Times:
Dialogue and mediation are not just tools for resolving conflicts; they are the foundation for fostering a culture of understanding, especially crucial during wartime and Ukraine’s post-war recovery. The initiatives presented by Ms. Olga are an important step in supporting the younger generation during this difficult period for the country.
